I ended my junior year with relief and an excitement to see what new opportunities were to come. One of theses opportunities was being selected as a summer intern at RyTech through Nazareth Academy’s BOOST summer internship program. RyTech sparked my interest as a place I wanted to spend my summer at because of their business aspect combined with digital marketing and my own desire to pursue a career in business. At the start of my internship I was welcomed with open arms and was in a friendly environment that has taught me that work can be fun while still getting the job done. In the short amount of time that I was at RyTech I have learned things that I can apply going into senior year and when choosing my career path.
Over the past 5 weeks here at RyTech, I was able to work on a variety of projects and use technology tools that I didn’t even know existed. It was also cool to see the behind-the-scenes of how a website works and how to make one. For the internship, I was responsible for creating content calendars and coming up with material used on business’ social media pages, help create a website, transfer over blog posts, help with branding and advertising a company on social media, and give feedback to some designs. Now, if you would have asked me 5 weeks ago what a Google spreadsheet is and how to use a blog to help a business, I wouldn’t have been able to answer that. But because of my experience at RyTech, I was able to learn more than I thought I would at this internship.
As my time here at RyTech comes to a close, I can say to peers that I strongly encourage them to look into a summer internship with a hope that they will learn new things and discover what type of career they want to follow, just like I did. I’m thankful to have been given the opportunity to intern at RyTech and will most definitely take with me many tools to help me in the future.
