Why It’s Time to Take Action and Start Blogging (Again)

Let’s face it, creating fresh, engaging content on a weekly basis is not easy. We hear clients frequently say, “I know I should be blogging, but I don’t have the time, energy or resources to commit to it.” Or we hear, ‘I was blogging consistently but I somehow slipped out of the routine.’ But what if you took a different perspective on blogging? Here’s why blogging will matter in 2017 and how it can drive results for your brand and your company:

1. Quality over quantity
We’ve all heard the saying ‘quality over quantity’ and for blogging, this is certainly the case. You may fear that your blog posts have to be lengthy. They don’t. Oftentimes a quality blog post that contains 200 or 250 words is more effective than one that contains over 500 words and is repetitive and out of focus. Go for quality content and don’t worry so much about the length.

2. Develop your messaging
Every company should have their own brand. And with that brand should come unique messaging. That means the messaging within every blog post, your website content, and your email content should all be consistent. It might take some time to develop your own style, but once you develop it, be sure to use consistent messaging in every blog post.

3. Optimize
Optimizing your blog posts for SEO purposes should be one of the first strategy points you make with your blog. Integrating keywords within your content is a great first step to optimize your blog posts and stand out from your competition. Optimization is something your readers will physically see, but spending the time to do it right will improve your website performance, search rankings and conversion rates.

There are two excellent benefits to blogging: (1) you reach current and new customers online in a unique way and (2) regularly uploading new content to your website boosts your SEO rankings. If you’ve blogged in the past and found it difficult to keep up with it, it’s time for a new perspective. Use these tips to streamline the process, or consider outsourcing to ensure you’re consistently delivering results to your customers online.
